Parish Council

Message from the Chair

As I begin my 3rd year as Chair, it’s impossible not to reflect on the challenging times we have all faced due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As a Parish Council we had to adapt to virtual meetings, with the added challenges of not being able to engage in face-to-face meetings with parishioners. However, we continued to work as a team to represent the interests of the local community.

One of our big projects for 2021 is to work with the HS2 contractors to fund improvements to the village green and the recreation ground (as well as other projects they may be able to help with). It’s important to us that we retain the village green as an aesthetically pleasing green space and create a recreation ground that is enjoyed by parishioners young and old. We also continue to actively fight plans for inappropriate development on greenbelt land.

As always, we encourage two-way communication and as restrictions lift, we look forward to welcoming parishioners back to the meetings. Please feel free to email the parish clerk if you would like to share your thoughts and feedback on our continued efforts.

We also say a fond farewell to Cllr. Wilkinson who is retiring from the parish council. He has provided much valued input and will be missed. This means that we have a vacancy for a parish councillor, so if you are interested in getting involved please email the clerk: parishclerkdbpc@gmail.com.
